Inferno Callouts CS2: Complete Map Guide (2026)

CS2 Inferno callouts map with every labelled position from T Spawn to CT Spawn

The Inferno callouts CS2 players use today follow three routes out of T Spawn. Banana runs up to B site past Logs, Car and Sandbags. Mid splits at Top Mid into Short and Long for A. Second Mid leads into Apartments, Boiler and Balcony above Pit. Most CS2 Inferno callouts kept their CS:GO names, even where the props behind them are gone.

Why Inferno has so many callouts

Inferno is a small map packed with narrow streets, rooms and corners. Both bombsites are close together on the radar, but the routes between them twist, so a lot of named spots sit within a few steps of each other.

The trick is to learn it route by route. Banana is everything between T Ramp and B. Mid is the open lane toward A. Second Mid and Apartments are the building route that comes out on Balcony above A. Once you know which route a name belongs to, the smaller calls stop sounding random.

A lot of the names are history. Car has no car, Coffins have no coffins, and Library is a wine cellar now. Players kept the old names because everyone already knew them.

Which callouts matter most in a real round?

You won't need all 62 straight away. A dozen or so carry most rounds: Banana, Car, Coffins, CT, Mid, Top Mid, Second Mid, Apps, Boiler, Short, Long, Pit and Library.

Calls get short. Nobody says "there's one player near the barrels at the top of Banana". It's "one Car". Add a number and a direction and you're done: "two Banana pushing, one Car".

Watch the doubles. Inferno has two Balconies, two Trucks and two sets of Sandbags. "Balcony" on its own means the one at A. For the others, say T Balcony, CT Truck or Church sandbags.

If you're learning the whole map pool, our Nuke callouts guide covers that map the same way.

Old and new Inferno names in CS2

The layout of Inferno came over from CS:GO almost unchanged, and so did the names. What changed is how the spots look, plus a few real layout changes from Valve since CS2 launched.

  • Construction and Church. The ruined building next to B is finished in CS2, so a lot of players now call it Church. Construction still works, and Total CS still lists it that way.
  • Car. The car at the top of Banana is gone. It's barrels and wooden planks now, but everyone still calls it Car.
  • Coffins. There are no coffins on B any more. The spot is scaffolding now, but the name stayed.
  • Library. In CS2 it looks more like a wine cellar than a library. Still Library.
  • 1st and 2nd Oranges. Named after orange boxes that haven't been on the map for years.
  • Dark. The corner kept its name after the 2016 remake made it a lot less dark.
  • Graveyard. Valve closed Graveyard to players on 04.03.2026 and extended Balcony around the corner. You'll still hear "Graveyard" for the steps that are left, but it's no longer a full hiding spot.
  • Banana. Valve widened Banana on 31.03.2025 to bring it closer to the CS:GO size. In July 2025 they also opened the Church windows above Coffins and reshaped the first box on B.

How PURE do on Inferno

Inferno is old, but it's still in the Active Duty pool, and it's been PURE's most reliable map lately.

Over the last three months on HLTV (20.07 to 20.10.2026), PURE have played Inferno 5 times and won all 5 (100%), as of 20.10.2026. We took 65 of 91 rounds: 71.2% of rounds on CT and 71.8% on T, and won all 10 pistol rounds. Source: HLTV PURE team page and HLTV PURE Inferno stats. Five maps from two events is a small sample.

The five maps came at FOX Legacy Season 1 and Roman Imperium Cup IX. You can read the match reports for our 13-4 win over Falcons Force at FOX Legacy, the 13-4 over Next Up and the 13-6 rematch with Falcons Force at Roman Imperium, or see all our recent matches.

Common mistakes with Inferno calls

Saying "Balcony" or "Truck" without saying which one. There are two of each.

Calling "CT" when you mean CT Spawn. CT is the lane into B. CT Spawn is where the defenders start.

Calling "B" when they're still on Banana. "B" means they're on site. "Banana" buys your team time.

Saying "Apps" without a spot. Boiler, Window and Balcony are very different fights.

FAQ

Is Inferno CT or T sided?

Closer to even than its reputation. Inferno has long been called a CT-sided map, but HLTV's overall Inferno stats page shows 49.7% of rounds going to CT and 50.3% to T (HLTV map stats, checked 20.10.2026). PURE's own numbers over the last three months are almost level too: 71.2% CT and 71.8% T.

What is Banana on Inferno?

Banana is the long curved lane from T Ramp up to B site. It holds Logs, Half Wall, Car and Sandbags, and whoever controls it decides most B rounds.

What is Second Mid on Inferno?

Second Mid, also called Alt Mid, is the narrow lane that runs parallel to Mid, from T Apartments to the stairs under Window in CT Apartments. It's the T route into Apps.

Did Inferno callouts change in CS2?

Barely. The names are the same as in CS:GO. A few spots look different, like Car, Coffins and Church, and since 04.03.2026 Graveyard is closed and Balcony is bigger.

Who made de_inferno?

Inferno was made by Chris "Barney" Auty and first appeared in Counter-Strike in 2001. It has been in every main Counter-Strike game since.

What are callouts in gaming?

Callouts are short shared names for places on a map. They let a team say exactly where an enemy is in one or two words, which is why every competitive CS2 map has its own set.
